The National SCRABBLE Association (NSA) operates in a partnership between SCRABBLE enthusiasts and Hasbro, the world's leading game company. Founded in 1978, it is the official organization of North America's 10,000 tournament and club SCRABBLE game players.

2008 NATIONAL SCRABBLE CHAMPIONSHIP IN ORLANDO. STOP BY FOR A SPELL!

The 2008 National SCRABBLE Championship (NSSC) in Orlando, July 25-29, is expected to be one of the largest in the 30-year history of the event. Approximately 800 Scrabble competitors from 40+ states and 6 countries will battle it out for nearly $100,000 in prize money, including the $25,000 first prize.

STUDENTS COMPETE IN THE 6TH ANNUAL NATIONAL SCHOOL SCRABBLE® CHAMPIONSHIP!

Providence's Rhode Island Convention Center was again the site of the National School SCRABBLE Championship. Now in its 6th year, the championship drew participants from 22 states and the District of Columbia. One hundred and four teams—208 students in all—vied for $10,000 in prize money. The winning team was crowned School SCRABBLE Champion and recaeived the $5,000 top prize.

The final game was played by the Westport, CT and Atlanta, GA., Matt Silver and Logan Rosen (coached by Cornelia Guest) and the Atlanta team, Joey Krafchick and Dorian Hill (coached by David Liefer). Early in the game Matt and Logan played the bingo MUSTIER, while Joey and Dorian struggled with difficult racks. Westport then got down ELUANTS for 68, taking a 123 point lead. They held on to win 458 to 303.

NSA's Executive Director John D. Williams, Jr., and Hasbro's Jay Bruns present the 2008 NSSC champions, Logan Rosen and Matt Silver of Westport SCRABBLE Club (CT), with $5,000.
