Battle for world domination with every roll of the dice in Risk!

Based on the classic board game of strategic conquest from Hasbro, Risk comes to life online where the object of the game is simple: Global Domination! Establish your military objectives, take command of your army and begin your campaign to rule the world. Risk is a turn based game with each player starting with their own controllable army in an attempt to capture territories from opposing players and control the entire map.

Acquire
The game of Risk starts with players taking turns selecting, or acquiring, a territory until all territories have been claimed. Once all territories have been claimed, the Deployment Phase begins.

Deploy
In the deployment phase, players place their remaining units on territories they occupy. Deployment is done one army per turn and ends when the last player has placed his last army.

Attack
Take turns with other players as you receive reinforcements, attack and ultimately capture your opponents' territories.

Fortify
Don't forget to strengthen your defenses and fortify your territories! Doing so will help you take control of the entire map.

RISK is a strategic board game for 3-5 players. It is played on a map of the Earth, divided into 42 territories on 6 continents. Each player starts with and controls their own army and attempt to capture territories from opposing players. The object of the game is simple: Global Domination!

At the start of each game you will choose your color then acquire and deploy your armies. Next, you will take turns with the other players as you receive reinforcements, attack, and fortify your defenses. Capturing one or more territories will earn you a territory card. When you collect three identical or three different territory cards you may cash them in for bonus armies. Capturing and controlling territories and continents also award bonus armies each turn.

Capturing territories comes during your Attack Phase, where you eliminate occupying opponent armies through a series of simulated dice rolls. The odds of victory are typically obvious (the army with the most units will usually win), but luck of the dice can reduce a sure victory into a shocking defeat. The element of "risk" is ever present!

Your game ends when you have control of the entire map (the default global domination rules), control 24 territories (an optional rule), you run out of turns and victor is declared (based on a combination of armies, territories, and territory cards), or you are eliminated. Good luck and have fun!

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced Risk player.

If you prefer a single player game, click on the "Play against Robots" link on the Risk game home page. You will find the artificial intelligence to be a worthy opponent!

Risk plays in a super-sized 1000 x 600 game window. If you find the game window extends beyond the edge of your monitor, close the application and reset your screen resolution to at least 1024 x 768.

If you would like to begin your attack with less than the full attack dice (which then forces you to move fewer armies into the captured territory), RIGHT-click on the target opponent territory and you will be given the choice of attack dice (up to 3 if you have enough armies).

RISK cards become increasingly important as the game progresses, as each time the cards are turned in the number of bonus armies increases.

When customizing your game know the audience. Most players will be turned off with manual dice rolls or may not like the automatic set-up option. Gather your hard core RISK friends and play a long, manual dice rolling, no time limit game, or grab a few strangers for an ultra-fast game with all the speediest settings chosen!

Are you clicking the Play People or Play Robots? Because you cannot change options when you do.
Select a Chat Room. Pick an empty table and then you can change the table options.

Windows 10 offers an option to "night light" the screen. Look in Settings: Display.

I play with a pair of "blue blocker" glasses so that the light from the screen doesn't suppress the production of melatonin before bedtime. I am not color blind, but the glasses do radically alter the appearance of the different colors. Blue becomes green and purple becomes brown.

I'm wondering if a pair of blue blockers would alter those two different colors in a way that would make it easy for you to distinguish between the two. I got a good pair on Amazon for $20.

Sorry, but, Pogo doesn't own Risk and cannot change the colors of the game board. You'd need to contact Hasbro about that.

All,

I am 40% color blind and I find that I cannot tell the two blue shaded players apart.

It would be nice if one of them could be replaced by another primary color!!

Thanks,

Check your browser settings to make sure Flash is "Allowed".
And, FYI: Microsoft updated Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10.

Which cache/caches did you clear? Browser, Flash, Java? You didn't say, and I know Flash is a resource hog, before I start a game let's say in Flash, I clear the Flash Cache in addition to the Browser Cache, and I do it again after playing. I use Chrome for the Flash Games and the HTML5 games, I have no freezing issues.

If you play the java games (I use Pale Moon, an unsupported browser) for java games and I do the same with the java cache and the browser cache.

(Unsupported browser only means pogo will not troubleshoot it for you if you have problems, it doesn't mean it will not work. )
