From another thread:

I just found out how. I wanted to go back too. This is a Pogo version. You have to play & win until you get the message from the beer belly dude that says "End of the line Buddy." (Then he will give you the option to purchase the full version.) If you don't purchase the full version, it will automatically reset you to the beginning.

Is there a way to reset the level, as you can do in other games? I had the same issue with Letters From Nowhere, but could replay the lower levels. I don't appreciate having to purchase the game in order to continue.

The Downloadable version is different from the Online version. Only the online version counts toward challenges and that version is not a full version of the game.
Are you playing Adventure Mode? You may want to try Survival Mode.
If you purchased the downloadable version you can play that whenever you want, but it won't count toward badge progress.

I am told that to go beyond the present level I must purchase the program. I already purchased the program previously. Is there any way to reset the level? I do not see why I should purchase it again.

Thank all of you for your help and information. I have played the game through completely 3 times now and on the last play through I discovered on the roof if you plant at least 2 rows of stars and block them with tall walnuts the lever is very easy to beat. Stars actually are a good bet in any level as they shoot in many directions at the same time so you get more zombies down at a time .

Thanks, GSilvia, but the fact is, I do play levels with water almost as often as I do ones without water, so that's not the answer.

I have some aquatic plants in my zen garden and got all of them from levels with water.
I don't know why you don't get them, I hope you can find and answer. Good luck.

Another fact it that no modes using the pool have ever awarded me plants of any kind, in spite of the fact that I've gotten trophies in them.

PS-- I've grown about 230 plants in my gardens altogether, 90% of which were game awards.....none aquatic.

Download games have fan site, just like Pogo does. You would need to do a search, but I do know there are a lot of Plants vs Zombies fans out there. You would get a lot more from them, then you would from EA or the forum.

I have managed to make it to level 5 stage 5 a roof top in the full version game from Pop Cap. I can not beat this level with the weapons they give to fight the zombies with. I have tried various strategies but nothing seems to work because in the middle of the stage they begin dropping the harder zombies in mass and much faster than they supply you with the zombie eating plants and flower pots to plant them in. can anyone tell me how to beat this level, I am open to suggestions of any kind to try. Only those who have beaten level 5 stage 5 need send suggestions on how to beat this level. By the way I have managed to beat about half of the puzzle games and mini games as well as having managed to get enough coins to buy the 80,000 coin slot for a tenth pick at the start of the level. My Zen Garden is doing quiet well. I also might ask how do you wake up the sleeping plants in the Zen Garden I have not been able to figure that one out yet?

RE the zen garden sleeping plants: It took me awhile to figure out that u need to purchase the mushroom garden and use the wheelbarrow to move your mushrooms there. This includes any plants which snore in the zen garden.

Now I have a question: In addition to the mushroom garden, I have purchased the aquarium, but the game never awards me aquatic plants. I have tried leaving my zen garden completely full so that I could only be awarded aquatic or mushroom plants, but all that does is stop u from being awarded plants at all.

I've tried leaving my mushroom garden full so I might only be awarded aquatic plants. I have also tried leaving both gardens full simultaneously. Nothing works. I have never been awarded an aquatic plant for my garden(s).

I have consulted with EA games over this (by telephone as well as online), and not surprisingly, no one knew the answer to this obscure question. They could only confirm that all garden plants have to start in the zen garden until they sprout (which I exspected). I was told that an aquatic plant's pot would fill with water rather than having any soil. They referred me to answers.ea.com (no www.) to use the forums there.

The question here, of course, is WHY? Why am I not being awarded any plants to put in my aquarium? What is it good for?
I doubt anyone but the game designers know.

Lovesonnet, my Tree of Wisdom is currently 158' tall. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to 200'!

UPDATE: My Wisdom Tree is now 331' tall & still growing! At this point I'm guessing it grows to 500', 1000', or simply has no height limit. I must say the mysteries embedded in this game are a large part of its appeal.

How can we change/exchange the plants selected on top? They seem permanently set. I need to include the free one.

There are 6 slots for plants, so the rounds you need to play to be able to exchange plants is a minimum of 7 rounds, one of the rounds is to get the spade, once you get the spade you will need to do some bowling with the potato plant then you get the squash plant. One more round and you get the frozen pea shooter. After the frozen pea shooter you will have more than 6 plants to choose from. Good luck!

Thank you Mod_Kyra. I took your advice and looked for a walkthrough. I found several and watched but the most helpful advise was to get the roof cleaner mower. I tried to follow as closely to the videos of the walkthrough. The closest that the zombies got to my mowers was 2 ranks and I was able to rebuild back to major strength even with the bungees going crazy. I finally beat the level and now I am on to 5-6

I found that once you complete the entire adventure mode once, you start from the beginning again but crazy dave chooses 3 plants for the next level you will be playing (each level count on 3 permanent plants in your slots) and you can't remove them to replace with ones you prefer, so in effect there are 3 slots for plants that may or may not be useful. Think I'm at level 3.9 on 2nd trip round. Hardest so far is the foggy backyard I've found...not even thought of the rooftop yet

There's also a tree of wisdom as part of zen garden, one of the achievements is to grow it to however many feet tall - from memory I think it's 100 feet. Gives little bits of info about plants, zombies etc each time you feed it fertilizer. Depending on what background you play adventure mode - the game drops plants or chocolate at random intervals. Chocolate I found is important to feed your snail so it collects all the coins in your zen garden, makes it a speedy snail

While I get things ready for our breakfast and when I think of it, I log in and go directly to zen garden, feed snail chocolate, water etc the plants and whatever, I leave it running from 1 plant 2 the other collecting coins. Chocolate is effective for about an hour on the snail...collects a couple of 1000 coins this way without having to do much (other than me get brekky ready!) When you get plants from adventure mode - get them from the mini games, puzzles and playing endless versions.

I enjoy this game
