The object of Phlinx is to create groups of 3 or more matching sones and make them disappear. Free the four captured glyphs and win the puzzle game!

Gameplay consists mostly of using your sun disk to shoot stones into the playing field. To aim your sun disk, just move your mouse around in the playing field. You'll see that the sun disk rotates to follow your cursor, and an aiming line shows you where your shot will land. Once you are satisfied with your aim, click the left mouse button to fire!

If you're having trouble finding a good shot, you can also move your disk to any of the three different platforms you see at the bottom of the screen. To move to a different platform, either left-click on the platform or use the space bar to rotate between platforms.

Once you have launched a stone, it will travel in a straight line, bouncing off the pillars on the sides, until it hits another stone in the playing field. The stone will join the rest of the playing field at the point where it landed. If that stone becomes part of a group of 3 or more stones of the same color, they'll disappear.

If, after these stones disappear, there are other stones disconnected from the rest of the playing field, they'll fall to the ground. These stones then make their way down the ramp and knock the progress meter closer and closer to its goal at the top of the pillar. It's by releasing these stones, not just making matches, that you earn tokens and win the game.

Your sun disk contains two stones. The larger stone in front is the one you currently have loaded. The smaller stone in back indicates the next color that will be loaded into your sun disk.

As you make shots, new rows will be added to the playing field. These new rows will be added based on the number of shots you make, not the amount of time you take. So feel free to take your time between shots to aim, chat, read a short romance novel, or bake a batch of chocolate-chip cookies for your favorite game developers (Cough cough.) The rows won't advance during that time.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you enjoy a game of Phlinx the free online puzzle game!

Don't forget you can bounce stones off the side pillars. This will help you make matches higher up in the playing field so you can drop lots of stones. It helps you a lot in the nighttime stage.

If you're having trouble lining up a shot, don't forget that (in the daytime) you can move your sun disk to different platforms. You can line up better shots that way.

Remember that making lots of stones fall is the key to winning, not just making matches.

At the end of every round, we provide you with a helpful hint. Be sure to read those.

Phlinx • Re: Scores (couldn't agree more)

By cwolff » March 17th, 2017, 5:02 am

I couldn't agree more Escape4Refuge...I find the tournaments way too stressful and tedious, but at the same time I won't stop playing because I am too competitive. I am constantly "maintaining" scores for the tournament, and it is slowly driving me out of my skull!!!
It is too hard to maintain high scores CONSTANTLY...I have a full team and we pull off 5-6 gold each time, but my teammates are also coming to a boiling point with the stress. We WANT to pull ourselves away and not play, but none of us seem to be able to do that with the games beckoning to us to play.
Once a month would be ideal, if even that often....and for cryin' out loud, SWITCH UP THE GAMES, POGO.

That happens when your computer is loading slowly. Minis are dressed in layers , the more items in you mini the slower it will load. You are the only one that will see your mini without her proper attire.

Phlinx • nudity on game score page on Phlinx

By Diane149 » March 8th, 2017, 2:08 pm

Has anyone experienced nearly nude minis on game pages. Twice I have had my mini to be nude from the waist up. It only happens on Phlinx. This time I took a screen shot of it because no one believes me. I don't care about the nudity, it is on the score page so only I see it but it is a bit funny.

I can feel your frustration. The Tourney is based on the ranking of teams and changes constantly. Have you considered merging with another team that has lost consistent players? I personally wish we didn't have the Tourney running one into the next. It is hard on the teams that always get gold, also. In order to maintain it in some games we have very little time for anything else on Pogo. I wish the Tourney were something like the first two weeks of every month, something like that, where we could all play crazy long hours and have the excitement of an actual tournament, then let it go for a while to work on other Pogo games. Honestly, it is just a silly virtual ribbon and means nothing when it comes down to it. If you can't find a team with five consistent players, it is really hard on you. Find another team so you don't have to worry about what other teams are doing while you are asleep.

Larry, when you go to bed that does not mean that every single Pogo player stops playing and goes to bed too and it doesn't mean that because you stop playing they should stop too!
Many keep playing while you are sleeping and that's why the ladders move up.

Why people keep playing even after you go to bed?
Because maybe they go to bed later than you do!
Or maybe because some players play at nights just like me (you will hardly ever find me playing throughout the day, I usually get On-line at 7-8 pm and stay up all night why? because that's what works for me)
Or because they are in other parts of the world, UK or even Australia to mention two places, and even if for you is bed time and you are sleeping for them is daylight.

The game is not cheating on you.
What could Pogo gain by making a game that cheats on you? Nothing!

You weren't chatting with me. We were posting in a thread in the forums. It's always best to return to the thread rather than starting a new one so that the whole conversation is in one place.

The tournament is working the way it's supposed to work. It's like a footrace. If you pause to tie your shoes, other runners can and will pass you. You and your team need to work your score high enough that not too many teams pass your score and push you to a lower ribbon level. It's a constant race until the tournament ends.

People all over the world play on Pogo 24 hours a day.

Every team starts with a score of zero when a new tournament starts and the scores go up from there. Teams try to outscore each other so that they finish in the top 10% of teams for a gold ribbon or the 40%-11% percentiles for a silver ribbon. It's a constant competition until the tournament ends.

What score is needed to get to those ribbon percentages? It all depends upon the scores that the teams get. There is no set score for a ribbon position. If you get into gold then take a break, there will be other teams still playing and those teams might pass your score and push you back into silver.

I'm not sure why the number of players in any given room can affect your playing and your tournaments.
For the Tournaments you play against other teams that may or may not be playing Phlinx (or any of the other games) at the same time you are and in any room they choose to play, no matter if it has one or many players.
In other words you don't play against the persons playing in a certain room.
(they may not even be particiapting in the tournaments by the way)

I believe everything you are typing about Seska42, I do feel like I am losing each day that when I come back & I am faithful to my Phlinx game as well as our tournament but this morning I went into our room & there are only two player anything so no use of playing in there anymore :(

I have played Phlinx for our tournaments & when I leave to go to bed & I write down the score number that was last one before I left, now when I get back in this morning * my score bounced at least 2000 scores what's with that? is it the way to keep us for winning or just plain ignoring us when I "try" to get a hold of someone in pogo, weather it be a phone call. a letter or try on the email even? so please tell me something ! I play the other's special games we have but now it's down to 2 players? :?:

I've had that happen a few times when I had a long playing session.

Here's what I did to correct the problem:

Sign out of Pogo and clear your browser's cache, history, temp files, and cookies.
Close your browser and clear your Flash cache.
Restart your browser.

I clear my browser cache several times a day with a dedicates cache cleaner. This locking out happens after only a few rounds in Phlinx. My Flash cache limit is huge in any case and is cleared along with my browser cache several times a day.

I'll leave it the way it is and try the space bar fix.
