The object of Phlinx is to create groups of 3 or more matching sones and make them disappear. Free the four captured glyphs and win the puzzle game!

Gameplay consists mostly of using your sun disk to shoot stones into the playing field. To aim your sun disk, just move your mouse around in the playing field. You'll see that the sun disk rotates to follow your cursor, and an aiming line shows you where your shot will land. Once you are satisfied with your aim, click the left mouse button to fire!

If you're having trouble finding a good shot, you can also move your disk to any of the three different platforms you see at the bottom of the screen. To move to a different platform, either left-click on the platform or use the space bar to rotate between platforms.

Once you have launched a stone, it will travel in a straight line, bouncing off the pillars on the sides, until it hits another stone in the playing field. The stone will join the rest of the playing field at the point where it landed. If that stone becomes part of a group of 3 or more stones of the same color, they'll disappear.

If, after these stones disappear, there are other stones disconnected from the rest of the playing field, they'll fall to the ground. These stones then make their way down the ramp and knock the progress meter closer and closer to its goal at the top of the pillar. It's by releasing these stones, not just making matches, that you earn tokens and win the game.

Your sun disk contains two stones. The larger stone in front is the one you currently have loaded. The smaller stone in back indicates the next color that will be loaded into your sun disk.

As you make shots, new rows will be added to the playing field. These new rows will be added based on the number of shots you make, not the amount of time you take. So feel free to take your time between shots to aim, chat, read a short romance novel, or bake a batch of chocolate-chip cookies for your favorite game developers (Cough cough.) The rows won't advance during that time.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you enjoy a game of Phlinx the free online puzzle game!

Don't forget you can bounce stones off the side pillars. This will help you make matches higher up in the playing field so you can drop lots of stones. It helps you a lot in the nighttime stage.

If you're having trouble lining up a shot, don't forget that (in the daytime) you can move your sun disk to different platforms. You can line up better shots that way.

Remember that making lots of stones fall is the key to winning, not just making matches.

At the end of every round, we provide you with a helpful hint. Be sure to read those.

Regarding players using a Mac, Adobe announced they had released their latest flash update that is causing problems with specific browsers on a Mac computer.

You can read more about it here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2208449 (note, clicking this will take you to Adobe's website).

We can't fix anything regarding the Mac issue, as it's something Adobe needs to fix on their own. I did read there's a beta version out, 23.0.0.181, that may give better luck if you want to try that. You can get it at: labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html

We're currently investigating the issues on PC, as we've seen a spectrum of users. What we can recommend is be sure your flash is up to date, your browser is up to date, and attempting to try another browser if your main browser is having issues.

Firefox users can try refreshing their plugins by going here: Reset Add-ons in Firefox.

Refreshing the screen makes other parts of the screen responsive again (briefly) so I can get back to the home page. Once again, the Opera browser work around comes to the rescue. This is really getting old.

It does work with Opera and Firefox, but not Safari at all. This is the only greying out issue I have encountered, but I do have the black box problems with Yahtzee and Pogo Bowl, which only work in Opera.

Please read the post above yours and follow the instructions. The technicians need that information in order to find out why the grey screen is happening.

Posts that do not include that information will be removed.

Phlinx • Phlinx screen "greys out"

By bigmarbu » September 27th, 2016, 4:00 pm

I cannot play Phlynx today. While the download dialog box is open, it grays out and will not allow clicking on anything. I've closed out of Pogo and restarted it but that didn't work. I tried clicking on a chat room to get in and that didn't work either. Is anyone else having the same issues as I am?

I am having the same problem with the screen greying out, as well. Trivial Pursuit and Crossword Cove had problems, too. The only game (so far) that I didn't encounter any problems with was Sparks. Hope to see a "fix" soon...

Update: After reading about Pogo's maintenance measures this morning, I assumed the issue was coming from my end. So, I waited for hubby (he's the tech person) to come home from work and had him take a look at it. He did a clean up of the computer, and I am now able to play the games that I couldn't play earlier today. Glad he was able to fix it for me... :)

As I said above, it sounds like your internet connection isn't working as it should. "Packets" are bits of information being sent back and forth. Have you consulted your service provider?
