Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

I have had the same problem. I found that if you go into some other game (any game and you don't have to play) then try to go back into Texas Hold 'Em you have a better chance of getting in. Have no idea what this is all about.
BTW - it doesn't always work.

Do you have to be a member to play this game? I have been trying for a while now and all I get - after the main ad finishes running - is a gray screen with "Pogo" on it. Doesn't matter how long I wait. Yes...I have cleaned and dumped EVERYTHING and I am using a browser that works. Any answers?

No Limit Texas Hold'em • GAME RANKING PROBLEM

By bambi895 » June 16th, 2018, 4:27 pm

:| If you are down to 2 players and one player times out or leaves game before all their tokens are gone, the remaining player wins the game ok but the hand ranking is (-1) so you lose points in the ranking even though you won the game. Tokens are allocated correctly. This has been going on for awhile now. Not fair if you care about the rankings. Poor sport players leave on purpose when they know they are going to lose.

It won't let me check it. I can live with it. I play No Limit, High Rollers and I was just curious why every table has a timer, some 10 seconds, some 15, some more, but I cannot set a timer.

Like the poster said, it is grayed out. You have to be able to put a check mark on the box for: Use the forfeit timer in order for the time to be set. You can change that number if you wish, but, if the box isn't check, it does not change it in the game. In the Tournament Game Mode, any Room, when I start a table, the box is grayed out on my game, using Chrome, Edge and Pale Moon on Windows 10.
Now, if I change the Game mode to Limited, the box is not grayed out and I can check it to set my timer.
If yours is different, could you please post exactly what game mode and room and what browser and operating system? Thanks.

You cannot set the Timer for the Tournament Game Mode. If you want to use the Timer you need to use the Limited Game Mode.

One suggestion that might help when you get that error message is to X out of the game. Leave the page, go back to your home page, and then go back to the game and try again.

That error message saying that you are already playing at another table will appear when you hop from table to table, so it's best to completely leave the game and start fresh.

More often than not, this game will not work - you join a table only to find that someone is not letting people join... then you leave the table but are unable to join another table - you get an error message that you are currently playing at another table. You cant start a new table either after someone doesn't let you join - same error message.
Tonight I got a NEW error message after someone didn't let me join... I left (as did the other 2 folks trying to join) and I tried to join another table. I got an error message that said that my token balance was to low to play. Really? I have almost 2,000,000 tokens.
I try to play this game less and less. :(
It seems odd that these issues have been reported for YEARS and no response from mods to this thread and others like it.

Play in the Limited Game Mode and in the Just for Fun rooms. That way you only need to get 4 Wins to get a JPS, instead of winning the Tournament. For what ever reasons, Badges don't seem to work right in the Tournament Game Mode.
