Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

OK,thanks,I'm not that computer-savvy,so I'll just have to wait until everybody gets caught up with each other...

Another thing I've noticed, when I win a game,I don't get the points until I'm the only one left on that page.If the player(s) I just beat does not close off the page,my point total will not change until they leave...Yesterday,the player I beat stayed for almost 20 minutes, maybe waiting to see if I left first so they'd get my points by default?

That's what CAGal is saying - your version is very new and in fact not yet officially "released". You should roll back to the non-dev version.

Beta versions of software are often made available pre-release to developers so they can experiment with the programming in conjunction with their needs.

Just some FYI: The Chrome you are using still Beta.
If you are having any trouble with any other game, you might want to uninstall it and reinstall the correct one. Version 43.0.2357.81 m. You can tweak that one to allow Java until September.
That is the reason you have to wrong flash also. It is 17.0.0.188.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • How are ratings calculated? Orange? purple? numeric rating?

By pattibeagle » May 24th, 2015, 10:41 pm

I can't figure out what determines someone's rating.
I'm an orange level, 28% wins. I see people at purple level with 26% wins. I see people at beginning levels with 30% wins. Then there's that numeric rating that changes. Sometimes I'm +17, sometimes +10, and I can't see any pattern. Then there's that other level that goes back and forth from 49 to 50 (sweet tooth to disco, I think)

3 different rating systems in the same game. Can anyone explain it to me?
Thanks,
Pattibeagle

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Re: no credits

By Mod_Jada » April 7th, 2015, 9:37 pm

That's a known glitch. It seems to happen when the next to last player leaves the game before the tokens are awarded.
You can continue playing but know that you may or may not get your tokens.

I been cheated out of tokens the last two nights. I've been leading in tokens with only two players left and suddenly the game shuts down and I'm told that there was a problem with the server. I know we can't do much with tokens but losing 20,000 is just not right.
