Limit Mode
Limit Mode is a more casual version of No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.  It features a simplified betting system, the ability to join a game in progress, and the option to re-stake and continue playing when out of chips.  Limit Mode does not utilize the ratings feature.

No Limit Mode
No Limit Mode is a tournament-style Hold 'em poker game geared towards the more serious poker player.  In this mode, players stake once and play until only player remains.  Furthermore, betting is wide-open; the user can raise up to his entire stake at any time!  Four players are required to start a game, which gains intensity over time via increasing blinds.  Games can be rated and further regulated by a "rating required" option, which allows players to group by similar skill levels.

Jackpot & Tokens
There are two ways you can earn a Jackpot spin:
  • In Limit Mode, you must win 4 hands (spelling S P I N at the bottom of the screen).
  • In No Limit Mode, you win a Jackpot Spin by being the last player remaining.
The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself! Members of Club Pogo are eligible for DOUBLE JACKPOTS!

Stakes & Tables
When you sit down at a table, you will contribute some of your token balance into your "Stake". This represents the amount of tokens you set aside for betting. All players who sit down at a table use the same stake. In this poker game, the nice thing about using a stake instead of your total token balance is that a player with a thousand tokens can play a player with a million tokens and it's still easy to tell who's ahead in the betting.

Practice First!
You're going to be winning and losing real tokens when you play any of the "Roller" rooms. Further, your entire stake is committed in No Limit Mode (that is, you don’t get your stake back unless you win the game; leaving early forfeits all your tokens!). We recommend you practice first by playing in one of the Just For Fun rooms until you're comfortable with the game and the betting process.

Going All-In (No Limit Mode Only):
There is one case where all betting will cease and the remaining community cards will be revealed without further betting.  This occurs when at least one player bets all his tokens, at least one other person calls, and there is no one left with tokens to bet. At this point, since no more bets can be made, the player’s cards are revealed as are the remaining community cards.  The winner is then decided in what is usually a dramatic Showdown.

Hand Rankings:
When hands are revealed, the player with the highest hand wins. Here is a list of the possible hands you could make in poker, listed from highest to lowest.

Straight Flush - Five cards in sequence that are all the same suit. A Royal Flush is a special type of Straight Flush that goes from 10 to Ace.

Four of a Kind - Four cards of the same rank.

Full House - A three of a kind and a pair in the same hand.

Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in sequence.

Straight - A sequence of cards in any suit. Please note that for a Straight, an Ace can be high or low, but it cannot "wrap around". In other words, A-2-3-4-5 is a straight, and 10-J-Q-K-A is a straight, but Q-K-A-2-3 is not.

Three of a Kind - Three cards of the same rank

Two Pair - Two different pairs of cards

One Pair - One pair of cards of the same rank (e.g. Two fours)

High Card - The highest card in your hand.

That's a glitch that's been around for a while. It seems to happen when the person in 2nd place leaves the game before the system has finished registering the win.

There's no estimate on when Pogo might get it fixed.

It is one of my favourite games, but, can't play it anymore.
What could be causing this to happen?

I'm playing the
same and not getting credit for the games I win. I should be at 7 not 5. Why

Instead of playing in the Tournament Game mode, select the LIMITED game mode and play in either the Just for Fun rooms or one of the High Stakes rooms.
Then you only need to win 4 hands to earn a JPS and you should be done in no time.
No one here can give you your 2 wins.

If you search this forum, you will find dozens of post with suggestions on how to win this badge.
Do not play in Tournament Mode, but, select Limited instead. Then either play in the Just for Fun or any one of the other High Stakes Rooms. You can play the bots in the Just for Fun. High Stakes require actual people. You only need to win 4 hands to get a JPS. Better then trying to win a tournament. So, it shouldn't take too long.

No Limit Texas Hold'em • Badge Payoff

By cadams840 » May 28th, 2016, 1:39 pm

I have been playing this game as a choose extra badge...to earn it, every week now for about 3 months, I get 1 or 2 of the 8 wins towards earning the badge, then the game quits acknowledging the spins when I win. I have gone in like activating it again, may get one more credit, but I have won this badge several times with the required wins but get no credit for badge. I also see in the forum many other people are having the same issue....POGO PLEASE FIX THIS.

I am not receiving credits for jackpot spins on No limit texas holdem. I received 3 and then when I got 2 more they were not added to my totals. Right now it's showing 3 jackpot spins and it should be showing 5 of the 8 needed.

Instead of playing in the No-Limit Tournament Game Mode, play in the Limits Game Mode. You can then play in the rooms of your choice.
I played with a friend in High Stakes and we both won the badge quickly.

Private tables can play by their rules. Many play "Raise or Fold". ROF. That means you need to raise the max each turn or fold. That could mean you can possibly win a very large pot or loose a lot of tokens.
You would need to ask to join a table. The are usually announced in the Table Selects/Lobby chat.
