How to play

Map Progression: Each square on the map represents a new and unique tile layout. If you have a favorite, you can always go back to that square at any time. Earn Badges for completing the green-colored Dynasty layout squares.

Scores, Time and Stars: Solve puzzles quicker and smarter to get higher scores. See if you can earn a three stars for every level.

Golden Tiles: Matching Golden Tiles grants a bonus score multiplier for each additional tile you match afterwards. Grab these tiles as early as possible to maximize your score!

Key and Locked Tiles: Pesky locked tiles block access to regular tiles on the board. You must find and match the key tiles to remove them from the board!

Time Machine: Nearing the end of the line? To continue your journey to new eras, you'll need to rescue the Time Machine by matching all the tiles on top of it. You have to be fast to catch it. The Time Machine doesn't stick around for long.

Flower Tiles and Season Tiles: The 4 Flowers can be matched with any other Flower tile, and the 4 Season Tiles can match with any other Season Tile.

Change Tiles: Try out different tiles and find the ones you love! It's easy to change your tiles while in game. Select the Menu Button in the upper right hand corner of the game, and then select TILE SETS. Once you've selected a tile, we'll remember it the next time you play!

Pause: Need to take a short break? You can pause the game you're currently in by selecting the Menu button in the upper right hand corner. This will pause the timer until you get back.

Power-ups

Hint: Reveals an available tile match.

Multi-Hint: Reveals up to 4 available tile matches.

Auto-Play: This powerful power-up auto matches up to 5 tiles for you.

Shuffle: Stuck on a layout or run out of moves? Use the Shuffle power-up to re-arrange the remaining tiles.

Joker: Select a tile using this power-up and all matches of that tile will be removed from the layout, even if they're buried under multiple tiles!

Magnet: Have a tile blocking your way? Use the Magnet to move tiles out of the way, so you can match them later.

Time-Freeze: Want to improve your time or having a difficulty uncovering the Time Machine? Use the Time-Freeze power-up to stop the clock for 30 seconds.

Skip: Having trouble with a level? You can always use the skip power-up and move on. You won't get any stars for a skipped level, but you can always come back and try again later.

Mahjong Escape • Re: 26 Time Machines On feb 14//18 (Merged Topic)

By baygrrl » February 19th, 2018, 6:55 pm

I've got 19 of 26. Didn't get credit for Prague 5 just now. What's that about???

I'm using Win 10 & Chrome, if that matters. I assume if there's browser incompatibility, the game simply won't load. I've used Win 10 & Chrome for the 19 games I've won thus far, so did something change this morning (within the last couple of hours)?

If there are any admins/mods here, I'd like the credit for this game, please and thank you!

As long as you earn 8 of the 12 Zodiac badges by May 1st you will get the Zodiac completion badge. Zodiac badges are also weekly badges, so if you don't complete all of them, you won't be able to close out the 2018 weekly badge album.
Yeah, I decided earlier to not pursue the badge, because I knew that we only have to get 8 out of 12 to still get the completion badge. I don't hate Mahjong Escape, per se, but I only like it in very limited doses. Plus, I'm so obsessed with Jewel Academy and Jet Set Solitaire right now, that I don't want to tear myself away!

Since we can skip 4 Zodiac badges and still complete the challenge, I'm just not going to worry about it. What a "first world" problem, huh? So many great games, so little time!

I agree. I dredge opening up my pogo page for I am worried that another game of Mahjong Escape will be on the board. and you can't always ignore it. cause if you do then you miss out on a lot of tokens and badges. So Pogo has us over a barrel.

I hope this helps others that find it as difficult as I did.
Thank You BarbBobCat for the information on winning the badge. I am so upset over this badge to the point that I am having nightmares about it.  Cause I want to love the whole game. So now it is 4:21 am ( Central Time ) and again I woke up from a bad dream about this badge. Again Thank You. I hope I get it. :D I only have 8. and it's not from a lack of trying. Tiffany

Thank you so much for the tip on winning. I was playing for days not knowing we were able to replay ones that we had won already.....Needless to say, it was getting very frustrating on the more difficult grids. I decided to check the forums and saw your post, and in about a half hour I'm almost done. :-)

I will not waste a shuffle on Japan level 5, I either replay it or just use a joker to
clear off what is left. It does not happen often that I need to do either. Japan is
too easy to win.

I have also run into the issue of getting almost finished and having no more matches. It's not a "fair" solution, but I use "shuffle" to mix them up.

I get almost to the end of a time machine and have one tile on top of the other so I have to scroll way way back (really not fair) or start over. This seems to happens more often when I have just completed the same episode prior. Then the pop up says there a power up that can help but has a cost. This game is annoying enough with the game play and frequency it come up with challenges. I have followed adsive and tried the Japan route and the China, they work once then a tile on top of a tile that one can't really anticipate.
Then to have one so big (26) , I have another life.
Is this a game designers pet project?

Mahjong Escape • Music cutting out.

By allyssanme » February 18th, 2018, 2:08 pm

Anyone else experiencing the music cutting out here? This music relaxes me while playing, and it stops playing about half way through the Japan level 5, but returns again after the returning to the menu with a won game. Any ideas?

Mahjong Escape • Re: Fun and addicting tiles

By lababicakes » February 18th, 2018, 1:27 pm

It is still February and the super fun tiles are already gone like the great ones in previous holiday months. Why wait until you get March new fun tiles enabled. This is the versatility we love about our Super Pogo. Keep up the great work, by allowing us to enjoy the whole month of these super ideas and implementations by Pogo Staffers. Put February tiles back up for Majong Escape and transfer to all tile games if possible. It gives us something to smile about and look forward to.
Thanks

I was having a really good game and getting close to the end on a time machine level and the magnet appeared. I couldn't finish the game because it leaves you with an uneven amount of tiles. I am currently playing in "Los Angeles". I was playing in Mahjong Escape yesterday finishing up the weekly challenge and did not experience the "ghost magnet", but did this morning. Has anyone else encountered this today?

Please read my post up above for a possible solution for that problem.

I just wanted to thank everyone who submitted advice on how to win this weeks challenge in Mahjong Escape. I was in camp with many others whose hearts sank to their toes when they saw the challenge. There was no way I could win 26 time machine games. I chose to try the Japan route and am happy to announce that I just completed the badge. That being said I still have to agree with the many others complaining about the frequent use of this game for challenges. Goodness you would think that they didn't have any other games to choose from.
