Match Tiles via Connecting Line
In the Mahjong Safari puzzle game, your goal is to match tiles with a connecting line that has two or fewer turns. The farther apart the tiles, the higher your score. For the highest possible score, create combos by matching tiles quickly one after another.

Look for Special Tiles
  • Four Stars - There are four, special Star tiles in each puzzle game. Match those to earn one of the three power ups available in Mahjong Safari.
  • Mini-Animals - These are the only tiles that don't have identical matches. Match the two halves of the same animal to earn a mini-animal on the left side of the screen. Collect ten and you win a spin.

3 Unique Power Ups to Earn
  • Shuffle Power Up - The Shuffle Power Up allows you to mix up all the tiles when you get stuck.
  • Long Line Power Up - The Long Line Power Up allows you to match two tiles with more than two turns.
  • Hint Power Up - Earn the Hint Power Up and get a hint about an available match.

Track Your Progress
In the lower left part of the screen, you will notice two numbers:
  • Tiles
  • Available Matches
These are useful to notice throughout the game so you can track your progress and know how many matches are available.

There are lots of ways to earn tokens in Mahjong Safari! Here are some tips to keep in mind:

The higher your Score, the more tokens you earn in this puzzle game. For every 100 points, you earn 1 token. Get a high score by matching tiles that are long distances away, and by making long Combos.

The higher your Score, the more tokens you earn. For every 100 points, you earn 1 token.

100 Points
=
1 Token

At the end of each successful puzzle game, you get a game complete bonus. Harder difficulties award more tokens since they take longer to complete.

If you complete a game and still have some powerups left over, you'll earn 10 bonus tokens per powerup.

At the end of a successful game that you completed quickly, you earn a Time Bonus.

During the puzzle game, if you make an animal-specific combo, you'll earn an extra 30 tokens per animal combo. For instance, match two pandas, then quickly match two pandas again, and you'll earn a Panda combo.

If you complete a safari by collecting 10-mini animals, you'll get a bonus of 100 tokens (and Pogo will give 100 tokens to someone else in the room.) Those tokens are awarded instantly, not at the end of the game! You will also win a spin, which may award some tokens.

If you're playing in a room with other people, when they complete a safari, you will once in a while get a bonus gift of 100 tokens for their efforts! Those tokens are awarded instantly, not at the end of the game! In most cases, only active players will receive gifts, so staying in a room without playing won't earn you tokens.

Try doing this when your game doesn't load:

Click F5 at the top of your keyboard to refresh the page.

Leave the page, go back to your home page, and try the game again.

Repeat the process if the game still doesn't load and see if the game loads on the third try.

You could also try using a browser other than the one you normally use to see if the game will load.

Is it like 10 completed safari's or 20 completed safaris in each rank?
Thanks.
I must be using the wrong terms. It is a question I have always wondered about

At the end of a game when the game recap screen comes up, the white screen, at the bottom, right corner shows My Rank. Then it has your rank out of 80 possible ranks. Mine shows 77/80.

Then underneath that is a window that is being shaded in with green. Within that window it will say x of x J Spin won. Mine shows 25 of 45 J Spin won. So towards the next rank I have 25 of 45 Jackpot spins earned so far. I just have 20 more to go to rank up.

Each Jackpot spin represents a completed Safari.

It tells you on the game recap screen how many more you need towards the next rank.

Thank you Jada. Of course I understood that just as I understood that the Mahjong Safari badge Otterly Cute Hard had to be played on HARD.

The point is, no matter how many times I play on NORMAL I get no credit...nothing changes on the active badge window on the Mahjong Safari page.

Listen, I appreciate your help, I really do, and I know that 99% of the time that people scream, "I'm not getting any credit!!" it is because they did not follow the instructions to the letter.
I am a VIP level, 5K badge member and I know how to follow directions. So what do you suggest now? I am POGO because an undone M&M badge is messing up my album status. I have o ell you, as someone who spent over 1500 gems on the Java re-release, this has me not wanting to buy any more of the badges where you pick a card and take a chance.
It bugged me that with the first card I drew Otterly Cute HARD, and then with the second card I drew Otterly Cute Medium.
Who the heck wants TWO of the same badge?

Oh, by the way, my VIP status is in my other membership account. I prefer not to post that account name here.

I suggest that if you don't want to graciously accept the help of volunteer member moderators and fellow members who cannot possibly know your status on your "other name" and instead rely entirely on what information YOU provide in your question (I notice you didn't specify that you were playing on Normal level) that you contact Pogo directly with your questions.

No one appreciates being yelled at for a genuine attempt at resolving your issue...but staff is paid to listen. We are not.

Locking.

Why doesn't Pogo support the Opera browser. It's one of my favorite browsers. It doesn't support Google either, or does it?

You would need to ask Pogo why they do not support Opera. That is a question that cannot be answered by Pogo members. But, it would be a good thing for them to do.
Opera is finally moving up in rating according to PCMag. It is #3 now, following Firefox and Chrome.

player wants to get high score...
i am ranked out and high score is over 13,000
you play on hard level. Its much easier than normal
People just refuse to do this and its much easier on HARD.

*You get score by giving and by getting safari same game ( play with buddy in small room..then you will get their safaris)

* matches made........without an animal in between
so on hard there are more four animal matches

*choose a grid that is easy to score
the is the s..or snake like
have " roadways" to the matches.

*get rid of the animals that only have two of a kind first if you can.
leaving you with the four of a kind matches

*HIT NEW GAME until you get good grids.
there is no penalty for new game.

*there are small points for fast game but its not much.
so test em before you match em... to be sure they play then hit match.

*also a score for NOT using a power up , but the main score is safari...1. give and 2.get and 3.matching
gl :D

Mahjong Safari • Badge Problems

By notsofoxybabe » July 9th, 2017, 10:02 am

I have the new Mix and Match badge called Otterly Cute Medium. I have already finished Otterly Cute Hard successfully.

For reasons I do not understand, no matter how much I play nothing is registering. I have played over 25 games and NOTHING shows in my progress. Yes, I have activated the badge, and it shows as activated on the game screen.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I've been playing this game quite a while. Usually get on an average of 6,7, sometimes 8 & rarely 9,000 for my score.
I see others getting lots of 10,000 scores. Is there a special way of how to take a pair of animals, or rank, or stars that
make these high scores possible? Level hard is what I use, & I'm not that slow. Can't understand, always these low scores.
Please help.
