CLUE Secrets & Spies

CLUE: Secrets and Spies is a covert hidden-object game filled with intrigue, secrets and spies! Use your sleuthing skills to find hidden objects and track down the nefarious Agent Black and his C.L.U.E. operatives. As an agent of P.O.G.O. it's up to you to search for hidden objects and clues to solve the mystery.

Hidden Object Intrigue
This is a hidden object game in which you must search for clues hidden in a scene. Once you have found all of the clues, you win the game.

Revealing Mysteries
The game is split into separate episodes, like a TV show, and you don't need to play the episodes in any particular order.

Dark Secrets
Once you start an episode, you have 60 minutes to complete it. The Timer only runs while you are inside a level, and you may halt the Timer by hitting Pause, or by clicking on the Timer itself.

Elusive Spies
You may leave the game and your progress will be saved so you can come back to it later.

Hidden Object Levels
On the left of the screen is a list of hidden objects. Find those objects inside the scene displayed, and click on them in the scene. Once all ten hidden objects have been found, the level should end unless the level also contains the Night Vision Goggles, the Flashlight or the Fogcutter; click on them once you find them. They will come in handy in a later level of the game.

Spot the Difference Levels
Examine the images on both sides very carefully, and spot the differences between the two images. Once you have found a difference, click on it.

Clue
If you're stuck and cant find one of the hidden objects, you can hit the Clue button to activate the Clue Detector. Move the detector around the screen and the closer you get to a hidden object, the more the detector's meter will fill with red. Click on the hidden object once you locate it. The Clue detector can only be activated once it is charged, and activating it will take 60 seconds off the clock.

Jackpot!
To win a Jackpot Spin in Clue: Secrets & Spies, you need to complete an episode in under 60 minutes.

The Jackpot Spinner spins like a slot machine. When it stops spinning, you'll win the prize indicated on the spinner or perhaps the JACKPOT itself!

If the Jackpot Spinner lands on the word "JACKPOT," you'll receive the current Jackpot amount.

To claim your Jackpot, you must fill out the contact information and conform to the eligibility requirements listed in our Prize Rules.

Here are some additional pointers designed to help you become a more advanced CLUE: Secrets and Spies player.
If you are having trouble fitting the full screen in your browser, click outside the game area and hit the 'F11' key on your keyboard. This will automatically adjust the game to your browser.

Don't be afraid to click the Clue button for a hint.

The names of hidden objects can be misleading. If it says "Bow" you might need to find the weapon, a piece of ribbon, or a violin bow, so don't assume which one it is.

Keep an eye out for the Night Objects, the Flashlight, the Night Vision Goggles, and the Fog Cutters, while you're searching the levels. You'll need one of them to complete the episode.

You don't need to complete the hidden object episodes in any order. If one is too difficult, try switching to another one. Your progress in the episode will be saved and you can go back to finish it later.

If you're stuck, you can exit the level by clicking the Map button and try another level. When you go back to the level you were having trouble with, something you missed before might jump out at you when you look at it with fresh eyes.

By Pogo_Cactuar » April 23rd, 2014, 3:38 pm

We are aware that a number of users are seeing incorrect renewal dates displaying on their My Account pages. Some users that are on an annual subscription and were recently billed are showing that their next billing date will be in May 2014 which is incorrect. We are correcting this issue and it should reflect on your My Account page shortly. You should be billed during the correct billing cycle related to your individual account.

Both of these issues should now be resolved and you should be able to play previously purchased episodes in our Hidden Object Games as well as purchase more.

For those players questioning about the sale in Amazing Adventures today (4/22) the sale is currently on until 4/22 11:59pm PDT, so you should still be able to participate.

Clue: Secrets and Spies • [RESOLVED] Purchased items showing as unpurchased

By Pogo_Cactuar » April 22nd, 2014, 7:50 pm

Our team is aware of some users seeing purchased items showing as being un-purchased in some areas, such as our Hidden Object Games. As well as when you attempt to purchase something for Gems, you may be receiving a message that states you do not have Gems when you really do. The team is currently investigating this issue and is working on a solution for it.

We recommend for the time being that you do not attempt to purchase the item for a second time.

Our team is working to have the issue resolved soon.

Some users have been able to see their Gem total by refreshing their window. This may not work for all users.

Clue: Secrets and Spies • Re: Episode 154 Winter Wonderland - error

But according to the dictionary a "helm" is a term for a helmet. I didn't know this until I checked it out, so technically the creators are right although why they would use such an obscure term is beyond me.

helm (hɛlm)

n.
1. a medieval helmet, formed as a single cylindrical piece with a flat or raised top, completely enclosing the head.
v.t.

Just to let everyone know that when you are searching for items in the city of Longyearbyen, and you are trying to find the Helm, you are actually looking for a Viking helmet. Sheesh!

In addition to what Seska and Rachael said, when I'm really stymied in a HOg, I use the grid method a friend taught me ages ago. I have a little square stencil about the size of a postage stamp - a square with a hole in the middle. I will use this to isolate areas within the scene, mentally breaking the scene into a grid of squares (think of it as a police grid search if you will). Now I've trained my eyes to work in the same manner so I don't need the physical stencil, but it's amazing what you an see when you don't see EVERYTHING.

The more I play, the faster I'm able to identify things - though the types of backgrounds make a difference, too. Sometimes the spot-the-differences with lots of greenery in the backgrounds make it pretty tough and I have to take a little more time to get through. I usually hope that there's some good variation there- some levels are a bit harder, some not as bad, but agree that since your brain starts to get into the zone with these games sometimes you're not sure if the scene really is easy or if you're just becoming a true HOG Maven!

It's always funny for me because I watch the artists go through the process of putting the objects into the episode so I "know" from reviewing documents which objects will be in the scene and where they'll be, and even then when I get around to playing the episode a few weeks later I'll sometimes be stumped. "Hedgehog? THERE IS NO HEDGEHOG IN THIS SCENE, I'M SURE OF IT! Oh, wait, there it is."

Clue: Secrets and Spies • Re: Not getting credit to complete badges

Jumping for joy. I don't know what the problem was, but I finally was able to complete these two badges today. I am not aware whether or not Clue: Secrets and Spies is a flash game, but I had a flash update this morning. That may have been the issue. I'm just thrilled to finally complete them. Yay Pogo! :D

Practice and/or visual acuity.

Some people can see objects quickly in scenes because that's the way their brains work. Plus playing a lot of Hidden Object games trains your brain in how to look for hidden objects.

I'm not someone who can do a brand new puzzle quickly. However, I've done the first Clue episode hundreds of times and I know where everything is located without having to think about it. I can do that first episode in under 3 minutes if I'm not in a hurry and in under 2 minutes if I play the episode several times in one session to get warmed up.

Clue: Secrets and Spies • Clue easier now

By Rmij » April 14th, 2014, 8:27 pm

Read in the news someone thought clue was getting easier. I rarely buy the games but wanted to see for myself. Just finished playing the snooze episode. Wonderfully brighter than many of the games have been. And, finished it in a tad over 3 minutes - so this one much easier. Items are standing out without having to search as with many other episodes. It was too short & wish I wouldn't have used 20 of my tokens. Do like the colors and light, though!

Yes, I am getting the "fogcutters". It will say something to the effect, "you have found the fogcutters". It is frustrating not to receive the credit and complete the badges. Fortunately, I really like this game.
