Check out Bingo Luau, the free Bingo game with a tropical twist!

It's a day at the beach in Bingo Luau – Pogo's free, tropical themed bingo game. While relaxing in the Pogo Tiki Hut, match the pattern on your Bingo cards before anyone else calls “BINGO”. The goal of the game is to mark enough numbers to match the pattern in the upper left corner, before anyone else does! Enjoy the feel of a Hawaiian luau while you compete to be the first person to call BINGO in this fun casino game!

B1 Prediction
At the beginning of this casino game;, each player has the opportunity to predict when the B1 ball will be drawn. If you predict correctly, you earn a token bonus.

Called Bingo Balls
Every time a number is called, that number will be displayed at the center of the screen. The five most recently called balls will appear to the right of the Called Balls table.

Multiple Bingo Patterns
In this casino game, there are many patterns in Bingo Luau, and these patterns change from game to game. You must match all the numbers in the displayed pattern and those numbers must be marked correctly on your Bingo card.

5 Ways to Win Tokens
There are five different ways to earn tokens in Bingo Luau! Bingos and Extra Bingos, Daubing Squares correctly marked, Team Bonus, B1 Prediction and Jackpot Spin.

Everyone starts this casino game with a set of 3 Bingo cards. These cards will have highlighted squares that match the pattern for the current game. At the beginning of a game, each player has the opportunity to predict when the B1 ball will be drawn. If you predict correctly, you earn a token bonus. If you predict incorrectly, you lose nothing, and can try again next game. The later predictions are worth more tokens because they are less likely to occur. If the B1 ball doesn't get drawn in a game, no prediction bonus is awarded.

Marking Your Bingo Cards
A letter goes along with each number to help you find the numbers on your card more quickly.
Letter B: numbers 1-15, left column on your Bingo cards.
Letter I: numbers 16-30, second to left column on your Bingo cards.
Letter N: numbers 31-45, middle column on your Bingo cards.
Letter G: numbers 46-60, second to right column on your Bingo cards.
Letter O: numbers 61-75, right column on your Bingo cards.

The numbers can appear in any order within a column, but the numbers 1-15 will always be in the B column, numbers 16-30 will always be in the I column, numbers 31-45 will always be in the N column, etc.

The square in the center is labeled "FREE", and you can mark that square at any time.

If you move your mouse over a number on your bingo card, a faint shadow of a daub will appear on the square if that number has been called this game. If you join mid-game or get distracted, using this technique will make it easier to catch up.

Claiming Bingo
If you match the pattern, click on the Bingo button for the card that has the match. This will register your Bingo claim and confirm that you correctly marked your card. If you submit an incorrect Bingo claim, you will receive a warning and the game will continue. If you submit three incorrect claims in one game, you forfeit all tokens and spin progress that you would have earned that game. If you call the first bingo on the same ball as someone else, the token award is shared among everyone who called bingo on that ball. Your share is proportional to the number of first bingos that you called.

The pace of the game is listed on the top tabs on the Bingo Luau room selector page. The type of game (3-cards or 3-card Blackout) is listed on the lower tabs. Choose the speed and type of game that's right for you simply by clicking on the appropriate tabs, and then entering a room. In the 3 card Blackout games (also known as Coverall), you must cover every square to get Bingo

Extra Balls
After the first person calls Bingo in a game, five extra balls are drawn to give everyone else a change to get Bingo. A bingo called during the Extra Balls phase is worth less tokens than the first bingo of the game. Even if multiple players call bingo on the same extra ball, each player is awarded the full Extra Bingo token value (unlike the first bingo value, which is shared among everyone who calls the first bingo.)

Bingo Luau • Re: Is it rank 40 or 42 for badge?

By CAGal1950 » April 27th, 2015, 7:10 am

If you look on the Bingo Luau game page, under the Challenges tab, you will see a badge for Rank 40, but none for 42.
There is a glitch for the ranks on some game pages. On Trivial Pursuit it kept saying next rank at 52 when there is only 50 ranks.

Bingo Luau • Is it rank 40 or 42 for badge?

Between games, the screen says next badge at rank 42, but under challenges, it say next badge at rank 40. Puzzled.

Generally, businesses follow the trends to gain new customers. This is what Pogo has been doing over the past year, to the chagrin of some old time members who wish for the Pogo of yesteryear. The newer games with powerups for purchase aka "microtransactions" (selling in-game content for a few cents that adds up over time) and the promised upcoming "minigames" (watch that new section in forums for more info on that; I don't have anymore than anyone does) that I'm guessing will look a lot like quick smart device games are examples of the new trends in gaming. Switching games over to Flash may prove to provide more mobile accessibility eventually. Or not, I don't keep track of that kind of technology shifts.

I doubt that Pogo will fade away but it's certainly going to look different than it did a decade ago. Time marches on.

Well, yes, when Pogo first started it wasn't any thing to see that many members online playing at one time. And, you have to remember, Pogo was the only game site that offered Badges, Mini's and tokens.
But, technology changed quickly. With the introductions of Smart Phone, XBox players, wireless Hi Speed internet, tablets and all the other mobile devices, all that changed. Most people don't sit at a computer all day. Now, they can take them with them. The emphases is on "mobility".
Personally, I wouldn't play Bingo Luau any more often if Pogo brought back those features you've mentioned. It's always nice to win, I don't need any recognition for winning a game. But, that's me.

Apparently I'm counted among the members who don't need recognition because I've never noticed any list of "first bingos"..but I've also been under the impression that there can only be one first bingo and that name appears just to the top left of my screen.

Numbers of players in any given game have dropped considerably over the past few years but I attribute that to the explosion in alternate electronic entertainment options. With smart phones giving access to literally hundreds of gaming options in a convenient carry size, I believe more people spreading their entertainment hours more thinly.

Yes, there is only one person that hits "bingo" first, but anyone else who gets a bingo on that number shares in the jackpot. They used to announce all the people who bingoed on that number. I was talking about the game summary. In the old game summary, it used to show a list of names who had that first bingo.. not counting the last 5 numbers called.

I also agree with the fact there are lots of alternatives to playing games other than Pogo, but what do successful businesses do when they start losing customers? Do they let their customers drift off without a fight? No.. they usually come up with ideas to keep, and gain, more customers. Otherwise, Pogo will eventually just fade away....

Mod_Kyra.. you are too funny! I used to scramble to turn off the gifting too, but eventually just gave in... however, it is annoying if there is chat going on and suddenly scrolls up out of sight when the gifting announcements appear! When playing in "super-speedy", there's usually not a lot of chat anyway.

I agree with this. I ranked out several years ago and reset my stats to start over. I used to play for hours on end nearly every day, but just wasn't the same after resetting. (Some of us have nothing but time on our hands.) I quit for quite some time, but return occasionally. I think I'm at about rank 46 again, but I have been working on it for years. If anyone is thinking about resetting your stats, it will probably be like me and you will be disappointed with your decision.

So, whatever the reason for people leaving, Pogo needs to spice up the game a little to get players back in. It looks like that applies to the entire Pogo experience. "Name in lights" meant that, after the game was over, you would see your name announced that you got the first bingo (or one of the first bingos). It wasn't an option, it was the way winners were announced at the end of the game. If there were multiple first bingos, you would see a list of everyone who shared in the first bingo on the end of game page. Now, there are no names on the end page. Yes, everyone who gets a bingo are announced on the card list after the game but there's no way to see who had the first bingos. Recognition may not seem like much to some people, but to others it is important. The end of game page doesn't even say how many first bingo winners there were. You just see how many tokens you won (if you happen to be one of the first). If you aren't one of the first bingos, you have no idea how many people shared in the first bingo pot or who they were other than the one that had the quickest hand when bingo was called.

And, yes, you can turn off the gifting announcements, but why even have them if nobody uses them? Why not use a feature like that to announce who the first bingo winners were? It's all about recognition. Recognition is what keeps people going whether playing a game, running a race, or in your career. You have to admit, something happened with Bingo Luau that chased almost all of the players away. There used to be several thousand people playing at any one time.

I'm grateful I have the ability to turn off the "give a gift" announcement; I found it highly annoying. I haven't seen since shortly after Pogo instituted it.

However, I played not long ago and it seemed the the names of all the persons getting a bingo on each color card popped up above the card as the game ended. I'm a little confused about the "name in lights"...perhaps that's another thing I don't see anymore with my chat preference choices.

Either way, it's very unlikely anyone at Pogo will see your post. You might try sending it to the editor; it may even be selected for publishing. Use your regular email and address it to editor@pogo.com

I agree that the "gifting" is a waste. I would like to see some of the old features come back as well. Hopefully we can convince Pogo to do some updates!
