Pogo Recipe: Linda's Favorite Oatmeal Cookies
Makes 4-5 Dozen Cookies
Ingredients:
| 1 Cup | Raisins |

| 1 Cup | Shortening |
| 1 Cup | Sugar |

| 2 | Eggs |
| | |
| 1 tsp | Vanilla |
| 1/4 tsp | Salt |
| | |
| 1 tsp | Baking Soda |
| 4 Tbsp | Sour Milk |
| | |
| 2 1/2 Cups | Quick-Cooking Oatmeal |
| | |
| 2 Cups | All-Purpose Flour |
Preheat Oven to: 375 Degrees Fahrenheit
Instructions:
- Pour boiling water over raisins and let stand for a few minutes until the raisins are plump.
- In a separate bowl, cream shortening and sugar together.
- Add eggs to shortening mix one at a time, beating thoroughly
- Add vanilla and salt to the mixture.
- Drain raisins; add to the shortening mixture.
- Dissolve baking soda into the sour milk in a medium bowl. (It's possible to artificially sour milk by adding vinegar to it, but natural soured milk is much better.)
- Add uncooked oatmeal to the milk, blending thoroughly.
- Mix everything together in a single bowl. Add the flour to this mixture.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Cookies should be about 2" apart.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes at 375°F.
